Calathea 'Tessera-viridis' care

Among the quieter members of the genus, Calathea 'Tessera-viridis' forms a slow climber and settles quickly indoors.

Position it in medium filtered light and rotate the pot monthly for even growth. Water weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

Keep it at 55% humidity or higher; pot it in rich, moisture-retentive mix and refresh the top layer each spring. Under good conditions it may flower indoors, though the foliage is the point.
