Calathea 'Silvergleam-tessera' care

Calathea 'Silvergleam-tessera' is a forgiving choice for most rooms, developing a slow climber within its first year.

It does best in low to medium light, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

Aim for occasional misting in dry rooms and use standard mix cut with a third perlite — roots here want air as much as water. Under good conditions it may flower indoors, though the foliage is the point.
