Calathea 'Lucida-vireo' care

Calathea 'Lucida-vireo' rewards a patient owner: it grows as a compact rosette and asks mostly to be left alone.

It does best in bright indirect light, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water little and often, keeping the mix barely moist. Yellowing lower leaves almost always mean too much, not too little.

Keep it at a pebble tray in heated rooms; pot it in coco coir with added bark and refresh the top layer each spring. It is mildly irritating to pets if chewed, so shelve it accordingly.
