Calathea 'Aurora-velutina' care

Calathea 'Aurora-velutina' rewards a patient owner: it grows as a slow climber and asks mostly to be left alone.

Position it in bright light with no direct midday sun and rotate the pot monthly for even growth. Water sparingly, letting the pot dry almost through; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

Keep it at a pebble tray in heated rooms; pot it in coco coir with added bark and refresh the top layer each spring. It responds visibly to a monthly feed through the growing season.
