Begonia 'Umbra' care

Collectors know Begonia 'Umbra' for its steady pace; it keeps a vining spreader even in imperfect corners.

Give it low to medium light; leaf colour fades noticeably in darker spots. Water weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter. Yellowing lower leaves almost always mean too much, not too little.

Keep it at 55% humidity or higher; pot it in coco coir with added bark and refresh the top layer each spring. New leaves emerge paler and darken over their first fortnight.
