Begonia 'Tessera-velutina' care
Among the quieter members of the genus, Begonia 'Tessera-velutina' forms a slow climber and settles quickly indoors.
Give it morning sun with afternoon shade; leaf colour fades noticeably in darker spots. It prefers to be watered when the leaves just begin to soften, and it will forgive a missed week far better than a doubled one.
Aim for occasional misting in dry rooms and use standard mix cut with a third perlite — roots here want air as much as water. It is mildly irritating to pets if chewed, so shelve it accordingly.
