Begonia 'Ember-vireo' care

Among the quieter members of the genus, Begonia 'Ember-vireo' forms a slow climber and settles quickly indoors.

Give it bright light with no direct midday sun; leaf colour fades noticeably in darker spots. Water when the top third of the mix is dry; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

Aim for a pebble tray in heated rooms and use coco coir with added bark — roots here want air as much as water. Under good conditions it may flower indoors, though the foliage is the point.
