Alocasia 'Stellata-vireo' care

Alocasia 'Stellata-vireo' is a forgiving choice for most rooms, developing a vining spreader within its first year.

It does best in bright light with no direct midday sun, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water sparingly, letting the pot dry almost through. Yellowing lower leaves almost always mean too much, not too little.

Keep it at a pebble tray in heated rooms; pot it in a free-draining cactus-leaning mix and refresh the top layer each spring. Propagation is straightforward from stem cuttings rooted in water.
