Alocasia 'Opaline-vireo' care

Alocasia 'Opaline-vireo' rewards a patient owner: it grows as a trailing habit and asks mostly to be left alone.

Give it bright light with no direct midday sun; leaf colour fades noticeably in darker spots. Water when the leaves just begin to soften; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

It is happiest at a pebble tray in heated rooms, potted in coco coir with added bark. Under good conditions it may flower indoors, though the foliage is the point.
