Alocasia 'Ember-silvergleam' care

Among the quieter members of the genus, Alocasia 'Ember-silvergleam' forms an upright clump and settles quickly indoors.

It does best in morning sun with afternoon shade, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

Aim for a humid corner or grouped planting and use rich, moisture-retentive mix — roots here want air as much as water. New leaves emerge paler and darken over their first fortnight.
