Alocasia 'Brevifolia-silvergleam' care

Among the quieter members of the genus, Alocasia 'Brevifolia-silvergleam' forms an upright clump and settles quickly indoors.

It does best in medium filtered light, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water little and often, keeping the mix barely moist; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

Aim for a humid corner or grouped planting and use a chunky aroid mix — roots here want air as much as water. New leaves emerge paler and darken over their first fortnight.
