Alocasia 'Aurora-lucida' care

Alocasia 'Aurora-lucida' rewards a patient owner: it grows as a slow climber and asks mostly to be left alone.

It does best in bright light with no direct midday sun, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water when the top third of the mix is dry; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

It is happiest at a humid corner or grouped planting, potted in standard mix cut with a third perlite. Under good conditions it may flower indoors, though the foliage is the point.
