Tradescantia 'Umbra' care

Tradescantia 'Umbra' rewards a patient owner: it grows as a slow climber and asks mostly to be left alone.

It does best in medium filtered light, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter. Yellowing lower leaves almost always mean too much, not too little.

It is happiest at average room humidity, potted in a free-draining cactus-leaning mix. Propagation is straightforward from stem cuttings rooted in water.
