Tradescantia 'Umbra-viridis' care

Collectors know Tradescantia 'Umbra-viridis' for its steady pace; it keeps a vining spreader even in imperfect corners.

It does best in bright indirect light, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

Keep it at average room humidity; pot it in coco coir with added bark and refresh the top layer each spring. Under good conditions it may flower indoors, though the foliage is the point.
