Tradescantia 'Lucida-tessera' care

Among the quieter members of the genus, Tradescantia 'Lucida-tessera' forms a compact rosette and settles quickly indoors.

Give it morning sun with afternoon shade; leaf colour fades noticeably in darker spots. It prefers to be watered weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter, and it will forgive a missed week far better than a doubled one.

Keep it at 55% humidity or higher; pot it in a free-draining cactus-leaning mix and refresh the top layer each spring. Propagation is straightforward from stem cuttings rooted in water.
