Tradescantia 'Lucida-opaline' is a forgiving choice for most rooms, developing a trailing habit within its first year.

It does best in morning sun with afternoon shade, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water when the top third of the mix is dry. Yellowing lower leaves almost always mean too much, not too little.

Aim for average room humidity and use coco coir with added bark — roots here want air as much as water. New leaves emerge paler and darken over their first fortnight.
