Tradescantia 'Ember-tessera' is a forgiving choice for most rooms, developing a compact rosette within its first year.

Position it in bright light with no direct midday sun and rotate the pot monthly for even growth. Water when the leaves just begin to soften; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

It is happiest at a pebble tray in heated rooms, potted in standard mix cut with a third perlite. It responds visibly to a monthly feed through the growing season.
