Dieffenbachia 'Velutina-viridis' care
Among the quieter members of the genus, Dieffenbachia 'Velutina-viridis' forms a slow climber and settles quickly indoors.
It does best in bright light with no direct midday sun, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter. Yellowing lower leaves almost always mean too much, not too little.
It is happiest at a pebble tray in heated rooms, potted in a free-draining cactus-leaning mix. Under good conditions it may flower indoors, though the foliage is the point.
