Dieffenbachia 'Brevifolia-viridis' care

Collectors know Dieffenbachia 'Brevifolia-viridis' for its steady pace; it keeps a vining spreader even in imperfect corners.

Give it low to medium light; leaf colour fades noticeably in darker spots. It prefers to be watered weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter, and it will forgive a missed week far better than a doubled one.

Aim for a humid corner or grouped planting and use standard mix cut with a third perlite — roots here want air as much as water. Under good conditions it may flower indoors, though the foliage is the point.
