Dieffenbachia 'Borealis-halcyon' care

Collectors know Dieffenbachia 'Borealis-halcyon' for its steady pace; it keeps a vining spreader even in imperfect corners.

Give it morning sun with afternoon shade; leaf colour fades noticeably in darker spots. It prefers to be watered when the top third of the mix is dry, and it will forgive a missed week far better than a doubled one.

Keep it at 55% humidity or higher; pot it in a chunky aroid mix and refresh the top layer each spring. Under good conditions it may flower indoors, though the foliage is the point.
