Dieffenbachia 'Argentea-aurora' care

Dieffenbachia 'Argentea-aurora' is a forgiving choice for most rooms, developing an upright clump within its first year.

It does best in bright light with no direct midday sun, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water when the top third of the mix is dry. Yellowing lower leaves almost always mean too much, not too little.

Aim for a pebble tray in heated rooms and use a chunky aroid mix — roots here want air as much as water. Under good conditions it may flower indoors, though the foliage is the point.
