Ficus 'Velutina' care

Collectors know Ficus 'Velutina' for its steady pace; it keeps a trailing habit even in imperfect corners.

It does best in bright indirect light, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water sparingly, letting the pot dry almost through. Yellowing lower leaves almost always mean too much, not too little.

Keep it at occasional misting in dry rooms; pot it in rich, moisture-retentive mix and refresh the top layer each spring. It responds visibly to a monthly feed through the growing season.
