Ctenanthe 'Halcyon' care

Ctenanthe 'Halcyon' is a forgiving choice for most rooms, developing a compact rosette within its first year.

Give it medium filtered light; leaf colour fades noticeably in darker spots. It prefers to be watered when the leaves just begin to soften, and it will forgive a missed week far better than a doubled one.

Aim for occasional misting in dry rooms and use standard mix cut with a third perlite — roots here want air as much as water. Propagation is straightforward from stem cuttings rooted in water.
