Ctenanthe 'Brevifolia-duskwell' rewards a patient owner: it grows as a vining spreader and asks mostly to be left alone.

Give it bright light with no direct midday sun; leaf colour fades noticeably in darker spots. Water when the leaves just begin to soften. Yellowing lower leaves almost always mean too much, not too little.

Aim for 55% humidity or higher and use coco coir with added bark — roots here want air as much as water. It responds visibly to a monthly feed through the growing season.
