Monstera 'Cascadia-opaline' is a forgiving choice for most rooms, developing an upright clump within its first year.

It does best in low to medium light, though it tolerates brief departures without sulking. Water when the leaves just begin to soften; the fastest way to lose one is a saucer left full.

Keep it at 55% humidity or higher; pot it in a chunky aroid mix and refresh the top layer each spring. New leaves emerge paler and darken over their first fortnight.
