Hoya 'Duskwell-opaline' is a forgiving choice for most rooms, developing a compact rosette within its first year.

Give it morning sun with afternoon shade; leaf colour fades noticeably in darker spots. It prefers to be watered weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter, and it will forgive a missed week far better than a doubled one.

Keep it at average room humidity; pot it in a free-draining cactus-leaning mix and refresh the top layer each spring. It is mildly irritating to pets if chewed, so shelve it accordingly.
